World Premieres of Bernard Roumain “Riots and Prayers”, David Ludwig “Bleeding Pines”, Eternal Light 2.0, six new works with Curtis Symphony Orchestra 

Symphony Tacoma received the 2022 Catalyst Fund Grant from The League of American Orchestras and the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Grants

Speaker for Dallas Symphony Women in Classical Music Symposium

Sarah ran her first marathon to raise money for the Cascade Conducting Diversity scholarship qualifying for the Boston Marathon with an average pace of 8:19/mile

2021

Debuts with Bilbao Symphony, Andalusian Youth Orchestra and Stony Brook University Orchestra, with return engagement to the Jacobs School of Music (dropdown for more)

World premieres include the debut performance and online release of Constantini Bandoneon Concerto and a new community & education program for students  resulting in the premiere on youtube of Eternal Light.

In response to Black Lives Matter programming becomes increasingly diverse and representative of artists, composers and soloists. Ioannides continues to produces visual footage for the virtual Encore Series, Interludes.

Concert with Vancouver Symphony tribute to COVID-19 victims with Vancouver Symphony, WA, broadcast by PBS.

Records and performs as a collaborative pianist to celebrate Symphony Tacoma’s Diamond Anniversary and raise money to support Symphony Tacoma’s education programs.

Cascade Conducting and Composing resumes in person for the 4th annual workshop and records live performances with Symphony Tacoma; 6 world premieres with 12 conductors thanks to the support of the National Endowment for the Arts.

Participates in the Tacoma City Marathon Association’s Point Defiance 30k and comes in first place female.

2020

World pandemic forces all events to a virtual platform (dropdown for more)

Sarah produces multimedia videos for the Encore Series for Symphony Tacoma, curates Chamber programs, & hosts a weekly Series of Classical Conversations Live on Symphony Tacoma’s YouTube page.

Sarah leads virtual workshops for Curtis Young Artist Summer Program, Cascade Conducting and is presented as a key speaker for multiple organizations on the subject of conducting, women’s leadership, and artistic advocacy.

2019

Cascade Conducting expands conducting workshop and launches program to include composers

World premiere of Andrew Moses: mob(ius),  Elizabeth Younan: Prelude and Fugue (World Premier), Hannah Lash: “In Hopes of Finding the Sun”, Prokofiev/Shakespeare Romeo & Juliet’s reimagined theatrical production for Symphony Orchestra & stage.

Participated in Santa Runs Tacoma 2019 and Tacoma City Marathon 2019 (half marathon personal record).

2018

Debut performances with Malmö Symphony, Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, Malmö Academy of Music Orchestra, Reno Chamber Orchestra, and Tacoma Opera in a production of Bizet’s Carmen

Daughter, Audrey Rose Ioannides Hartman turns 10 years old

Conducts US Premiere of Marie Samuelsson’s “The Eros Effect & Solidarity” from The Love Trilogy with Symphony Tacoma

Launches the Annual Cascade Conducting Masterclass in the Pacific Northwest at Pacific Lutheran University

Showcased in Madame Figaro Women of the Year Award, Cyprus

2017

Debut performances with South African National Youth Orchestra on tour and the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia

Establishes residency in Washington State

Extends Music Director contract with Symphony Tacoma through the 2023-2024 season

Conducts World Premiere of Judy Herrington’s “Stars Tonight” (orchestrated by S. Ioannides) with Symphony Tacoma and Tacoma Youth Chorus

Conducts World Premiere of Matthijs van Dijk’s “Dance” with South African National Youth Orchestra

Records Marie Samuelsson’s Eroseffekt och solidaritet and Flygande linjer och dån with the Nordic Chamber Orchestra

Conducts Multimedia World Premiere of Daniel Ott’s “Fire-Mountain” with Symphony Tacoma with support from a National Endowment of the ArtWorks grant
