Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra to Perform Afro-American Symphony on Dec. 4
The Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra will perform Symphony No. 1, “Afro-American” by composer William Grant Still as part of its program on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 8 pm at the Staller Center for the Arts main stage.
The program will include guest conductor Sarah Ioannides and violin soloist Heejeon Ahn. The orchestra will also perform Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s The Bamboula, Rhapsodic Dance for Orchestra, Op. 75, and Johannes Brahms’ Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 77.
